Jackson Winters is a multifaceted designer with more specialised skills in menswear, historical clothing and graphic design.
His creative process involves deep thought and research until he finds something he believes he can work from. He likes to find more basic ideas and add his own edgy and alternative narrative to the design.
With his brand Agar Jackson, he hopes to bring something new and fun into menswear by extracting what was great about the old. By looking into historical suits and tailoring techniques and injecting personality into them, he has been able to do this for his final collection. Jackson is full of passion for what he does, which drives him to work hard and perfect the pieces that he makes.
Throughout his time at Arts University plymouth he has also been able to design around other narratives such as m, romanticism (as an art era), take inspiration from the shedding of reptiles, and explore the impact the suit has had on human rights through protest in his dissertation.
Jackson believes he is better suited to digital and physical design as well as research rather than making, and has a rich skill set using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop that allow him to do this effectively. But he is very open-minded to what the future could bring for him and his career as he believes he diverse range of skills that could be utilised in many different ways.
He also wants to keep his practices sustainable as he is as passionate about the future as he is the past.
